I’m an Apple expert – never upgrade iPhones without changing these settings first

IF YOU are planning to get a new iPhone, then you should update these settings that clear your current device’s data first.

A useful tip was posted on TikTok to help iOS users protect their information before upgrading their devices.

One TikTok user shared a handy hack with iPhone users who are about to upgrade their devices

Shared by user @NewtechUnbox, the TikTok reel showcased the simple trick in a 34-second video.

In the post, the user could be seen recording himself as he stated, “here’s how to prepare your iPhone for sale or trade-in.”

The TikToker then changed the camera’s point of view to display his iPhone’s home screen.

He told his viewers to first back up their data onto iCloud or their desktop.

Then, the content creator headed to his device’s ‘Settings’ and clicked on ‘General’.

Once there, the TikTok user scrolled to the bottom and then tapped on ‘Transfer or Reset iPhone’.

He continued, telling his viewers to select the last option: Erase all Content and Settings.

The TikToker then illustrated how the tool specifically functions.

“From this page, you can see it tells you that ‘erasing’ will basically sign you out of your Apple ID and any other accounts,” he said.

NewTechUnbox added that it would also delete all personal data, “which makes your phone ready for trade-in or a giveaway.”

The handy reel went live on Monday and since then has garnered dozens of likes.

Several TikTok users also took to the comments section to express their gratitude for the hack.

“Thanks, that was very useful,” one user wrote.

Another simply added a string of red heart and praying hand emojis.
