Razer gaming headset saves gamer from stray bullet

A REDDIT users nearly met the end of their days when a bullet came spiraling through their window.

Fortunately, the projectile was deflected by the metal hardware inside their gaming headset.

The bullet’s entry hole can be seen in both the headset and window

Reddit user u/Enough_dance_956 posted the images with a message writing “I’m trying to get a hold of someone at Razer to thank them with all my heart. Wednesday morning at 10:30am a stray bullet went through my window and hit the Razer headphones on top of my head.”

Images show that the bullet tore through a window and ran across the top of the headset.

The original poster has said the bullet was a 9mm caliber that collided with the wall after passing through the headset.

“The bullet went through my window into my headset and bounced off the wall, and landed in my bed,” they wrote.

Police retrieved the bullet that ultimately came to a stop in the poster’s bed.

u/Enough_Dance_956 said the speed of the event made it impossible to realize what was going on until after the bullet came to rest.

TechRadar reported that Razer contacted u/Enough_Dance_956 and offered them a replacement headset and other gear.

“If it wasn’t for the headphones made with good quality, I would’ve been a dead kid at the age of 18. I couldn’t even imagine all the pain my family and friends would’ve been through,” the poster wrote.

The incident occurred in Torrance, California.

A spokesperson for Razer told PCMag “This is not an April Fool’s prank, at least not from us,” quelling some of the skepticism the original post was met with.

Many Redditors commented back encouraging the original poster to buy a lottery ticket.

u/Enough_Dance_956 said they bought a scratch off ticket and won $10 – the winnings pale in comparison to the luck they had when a stray bullet came crashing through their window.
