Carlo Ancelotti WILL be in charge of Real Madrid for Champions League clash with Chelsea after negative Covid test

REAL MADRID have confirmed that Carlo Ancelotti WILL be at Stamford Bridge to face old club Chelsea tonight.

The Italian, 62, faced missing the Champions League clash after testing positive for the virus six days ago.

Ancelotti missed the 2-1 win over Celta Vigo at the weekend.

And it was feared that he would also be absent for the crunch quarter-final first leg.

However, the LaLiga giants have just announced this morning that he will be in the dug-out later.

A statement said: “Real Madrid CF announces that our coach Carlo Ancelotti has tested negative for Covid-19, so he will travel to London this morning to join the first team training camp.”

Ancelotti’s son Davide was in charge for Real’s game against Celta Vigo on Saturday in his absence.

But Davide couldn’t dish out orders due to not having the required licence, and was required to remain seated on the bench throughout the game.

Although he was spotted communicating with Ancelotti Sr through a headset.

Real’s goalkeeper coach Luis Llopis then barked the instructions from the technical area to the players on the pitch.

Ancelotti spent two seasons in charge of Chelsea from 2009.

He led them to the Premier League and FA Cup double during his first year.

But he was brutally axed the following summer after they finished second in the top-flight.
