Deputies responded to the scene moments later, working to secure the area.

According to deputies, the shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound before authorities were able to take them into custody.

The shooter was a former employee of the plant, said police.

Two people were taken to a local hospital, however, it’s unknown what the extent of their injuries are.

Employees at the plant ran to the Typsy Tavern Bar & Grill across the street in an attempt to seek shelter from the incident, said police.

The Coroner’s Office, The Anderson Police Department, Sheriff’s Office and Highway Patrol are all at the scene.
