Confessing He Could Get “Lots of Broads”, Mike Tyson Learnt a Painful Lesson After Kobe Bryant’s Death

Mike Tyson, often regarded as one of the greatest boxers ever, is known for his heavyweight title, which he won when he was 20 years old. Tyson was also a part of street gangs in his early teens. The champ spent quite some time behind bars in his boxing days.

After some memorable fights and some controversial bouts, Tyson retired in 2005. Mike had learned a lot of lessons throughout his career. He always seems to learn and change himself. Tyson seems to have changed after Kobe Bryant’s death as well.

Tyson learns to have gratitude after Kobe Bryant’s death

Sports icon and NBA legend, Kobe Bryant passed away in a helicopter crash on January 26th, 2020. This had the whole sports world in shock. The NBA Hall of Famers, Shaquille O’Neal, Michael Jordan, and others paid tribute to Bryant. Not only the NBA world, but every professional American athlete was deeply affected by the legend’s passing. Teams in the NBA paid tribute to Bryant by committing a shot clock violation.

Mike Tyson on the other hand, was reminded of a lesson from Kobe’s death. Mike tells about how he often forgets to be grateful for what he has.

“… now I’m a different person now since that happened. And I don’t even know what happened, but I’m different,”, said Tyson in an episode of  Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, after Kobe’s passing. Mike doesn’t really know why, but he thinks he is changed.

“I’m different, but I don’t even know how I’m different, but I’m different now that happened.” 

Kobe Bryant left us all with a message

Tyson goes on to talk about how being grateful for life is important. One should never forget how grateful they are to live another day.

“… I would like to believe that I’m… I have more gratitude. I’m grateful for my existence in the air that I breathe and for my family. And sometimes I think… you know I get cocky sometimes. I think I can get a lot of people, a lot of broads. And I guess sometimes I… I just need to be more… have more gratitude.”

Tyson has changed his character drastically throughout his career. Mike wasn’t seen as a good man most of the time in his career. Mike was reminded by Kobe’s death to be grateful for life. Kobe’s tragic passing had everyone believe that no matter who anyone is, we all should have gratitude towards life.
