“RIP Young Buck”: NFL Twitter Pours In With Tributes Following The Untimely Passing of QB Dwayne Haskins
The NFL world was shocked to its core following the saddening news of the passing of Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins. The NFL quarterback was struck down by a car and did succumb to his injuries on Saturday. The news was reported by the 24-year-old’s agent Cedric Saunders to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The shocking incident took place after Haskins was in South Florida and training with other Steelers players before the start of the 2022 NFL season. The news did reach Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, who did release a statement.
Tomlin states, “I am devastated and at a loss for words with the unfortunate passing of Dwayne Haskins. He quickly became part of our Steelers family upon his arrival in Pittsburgh and was one of our hardest workers, both on the field and in our community.”
Tomlin was heartbroken on hearing the news while praising Haskins as the best teammate and the hardest worker in the organization. He did send his thoughts and prayers to Haskins’ wife Kalabrya and his entire family, whom he considers close. He will always remain in the memories of NFL fans for his outstanding contributions to uplifting the community outside of the football field.
Dwayne Haskins: A young player, gone too soon
Haskins will fondly remain in the memories of fans at Ohio State. He did enjoy an amazing junior season with the team and was influential. The former Heisman Trophy finalist during the 2018 season, where he did display his acumen in passing and leadership. He also did receive recognition as the Chicago Tribune Silver Football award for being the best player in the Big Ten.

Haskins was the 15th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft for the Washington Commanders. While being a journeyman QB in the NFL, His passing led fans on Twitter to wonder about themselves.

The late Steelers QB joined the franchise in January 2021 as a reserve/future contract player. He showed an eagerness to learn from retired QB Ben Roethlisberger. He was in the running for the open QB spot with Mitch Trubisky and Mason Rudolph in 2022. The prayers and support of the NFL fans around the world will be with Dwayne Haskins and his family.
