Tiger Woods Reveals the Part of His Game Which Held Him Back at the 2022 Masters: ‘I Just Could Not Get a Feel’

Tiger Woods had an impressive start at the Augusta National this week. However, he kept falling on the leaderboard in the subsequent rounds. While everyone expected him to have trouble while walking, the golfer faced issues in making putts.

“I just couldn’t get a feel,” Woods said. He explained why he couldn’t make his putts well in the press interview later. “I just could not get a feel for getting comfortable with the ball,” he added.

Woods had scored a 6-under 78 in the third round at the Augusta National. This was the first time he had scored such a high score in his history at the Masters.

“Posture, feel, my right hand, my release,” Woods said as he explained how his body responded during putting. “I just couldn’t find it.” Woods further added that he tried to change a lot while on the green. However, nothing worked for him.

Tiger fell into the Augusta trap on the first hole itself in the third round. He had made a 3-putt bogey on the Tea Olive. His hope to get better on the leaderboard fell on the Magnolia hole again after double-bogeying it.

The 15-time major winner is considered one of the greatest putters the world of golf has ever seen. However, his putting techniques didn’t help him, and ended up scoring his worst round in the history of Masters.

Tiger Woods made fun of himself!

“Even as many putts as I had,” Woods said. “you’d think I’d have figured it out somewhere along the line.” He was chuckling all the while as he said this. “But it just didn’t happen,” he added.

Woods had made a total of 22 putts on the first seven holes alone on Saturday.

Although he struggled with putting, that was not the only thing that troubled him in round 3. Woods was visibly limping while walking on the Augusta on Saturday. The cold weather on the course worsened his health since the chilly weather would make his fused back loose.

The 2022 Masters is the first official tournament Woods is playing after surviving a car accident last year. And the golfer had recently admitted that just being able to play at the tournament is itself a victory for him.

The 15-time major winner used to dominate the field of the Masters. However, his health is not supporting him to do it now. Yet, he keeps on playing because of his passion for the sport.
