Burns faced Thompson at UFC 264 on 10th July 2021. He is seen lunging towards Thompson and throwing a right uppercut. But the punch misses and instead clocks Burns on the face.

However, Burns won the bout by unanimous decision.

In the same line, world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury also faced a similar experience. Fury was facing Lee Swaby in 2009.

Fury who was aiming for a knockout, threw a right uppercut at Swaby who was backed up to the ropes. Swaby was able to duck in time. This led to Fury getting hit with his own devastating blow.

However, the moment was short lived as Fury was the winner of the fight.

Fury was his jovial self after the incident. He jokingly spoke about the punch, saying, “Reason behind it was, I was in a fight and I couldn’t really feel the other guy’s punches. So I decided to punch my own self in the face.”
