My girlfriend’s annoyed that I won’t pay to repair her front door
DEAR DEIDRE: MY girlfriend’s front door is completely broken and she keeps saying: “If you loved me, you’d pay for it.”
I’m a man of 31 and she’s 30. We’ve had an on-off relationship for the past year.
I know her broken door is a security risk but I can’t afford to buy her a new one

She has a son of five and he’s a great kid.
The problem is that she’s always looking after her best mate’s ten-year-old boy.
We arrange a date and I ask if we will be alone. She says yes but then this other kid is around long after her own child is in bed.

I know her broken door is a security risk but I can’t afford to buy her a new one. I give her money when I can.
She only got back in touch when she needed money. I get little in return.
