I couldn’t afford Doc Marten sandals for summer so used a £1 hack to turn my shoes into dupes and saved £100

A WOMAN has shared the genius way she transformed a pair of sandals into Doc Marten dupes using a £1 hack.

Doc Martens are a fashion staple but don’t come cheap with most of their shoes priced at £100 or above.

But TikToker, sapphoes, was determined to look the part this summer, so decided to upcycle a pair of sandals to look like dupes.

She took a pair of black leather sandals, with white threading at the bottom which cost her £19 ($25) and a yellow highlighter pen.

She then used the pen to colour the white stitching on the soles yellow – giving the appearance of Doc Martens, famous for their yellow stitching.

In total, the hack cost her just £20 ($26) saving herself £100 instead of buying the real deal.
