Sophie Ellis Bextor seen in very rare picture with all five of her kids

SOPHIE Ellis Bextor was surrounded by all five of her kids on her birthday in a very rare glimpse into her family life.

The singer, 43, smiled happily at her birthday cake as her five sons – ranging in ages from 17 to three – watched on carefully.

Sophie’s mum, Janet, posted the rare look into her home as she gushed over her oldest born child.

The wore her trademark dark hair down around her shoulders, and sported a chic red top over a long sleeved white top with red love hearts on it.

Janet captioned the post: “Happiest of birthdays to my darling first born ( with her five borns).”

Sophie gave birth to her fifth child, a son named Mickey, on January 7, 2019.

She had her eldest child Sonny in 2004.

Her other kids are  Kit, born in 2009, Ray, born in 2012, and Jesse, arriving in 2015.

After the birth of Jesse in 2015 Sophie told Hello magazine: “After I had my first and second child, I was often asked, ‘Are you having another?’

“Now, after four, it’s very telling that I’m getting ‘Are you stopping now?’”

Sophie has previously revealed she found out she was pregnant after just six weeks of dating and that first son, Sonny, was born prematurely.

The star is married to rocker Richard Jones who is best known as the bass guitar player with British rock band The Feeling.

He attended the Brit school in Croydon and first met Sophie in 2002 during her tour for album Read My Lips.

They got married in Italy in 2005.

Richard performed in the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games with Ed Sheeran, Nick Mason and Mike Rutherford.

Sophie shot to fame as a popstar in the late 90s with hits including Murder On The Dancefloor.

She most recently used her fame to raise more than £1million by doing  a mammoth 24 hour danceathon in aid of Children in Need.

During lockdown Sophie hosted popular Kitchen Disco events at home with mum Janet, husband Richard and their five children Sonny.

She said: “It’s been an honour and actually really fun, except for the bits that weren’t fun.”
