WATCH: Unstoppable Tony Hawk Practices Major Tricks Despite Doctor Giving Up on His Injured Leg

Not even a month away from skateboarding could keep Tony Hawk away from skateboarding. The sport needs him, as much as, he needs the sport. The greatest skateboarder of all time brushed off his femur injury and started skateboarding again. As he posted a video earlier of how he started skateboarding, the latest one sees him doing skills. Just like what Michael Jordan is to basketball, Hawk’s aura in skateboarding cannot be replaced.

In his latest Instagram post, Hawk posted a video of him trying to do some tricks that normal skateboarders do. Early signs suggest he is recovering pretty well from the injury he suffered. Tony is back to his happy place!

One can’t keep Tony Hawk away from skateboards

The incredible Hawk gave a glimpse of his progress after his horrific leg injury. The 53-year-old had a skating accident, which led to him breaking his femur. He posted photos of the X-ray and him on crutches at the hospital. Admitting that the recovery process will be much harder, Hawk’s comeback to skateboarding is just incredible. The gods of skateboarding are not finished with him yet.

Likewise, playing AC/DC, ‘Back in Black’ in the background is synonymous with the return of the skateboarding legend. With doubts about coming back to skateboarding and mellowing it down, Hawk revealed his thoughts on Instagram on what fired him up! Most people were delighted to see him return and show off his skateboarding skills.

“Week 5. I have been feeling discouraged lately but this got me fired up.”

Just a modern-day miracle

Breaking the femur is not an easy injury to recover from. Usually, it takes months for broken femurs to heal. Even Hawk admitted he would return soon after recovering from the injury and that a broken leg won’t keep him down.

“I’ve said many times that I won’t stop skating until I am physically unable. A broken leg—with plenty of hardware—will probably be the biggest test of that creed. I’ll be back… maybe not at full capacity but I resigned to that notion years ago as I approached ‘mid-life,” said Hawk.
