WATCH: When Lewis Hamilton Realized He Had Been Following a Fake Sebastian Vettel Profile On Social Media

Sebastian Vettel is one of the most loved drivers on the grid. Be it his racing skills, his work for the community, or raising awareness to the F1 crowd, the German is without a doubt one of the greatest drivers in F1 history and is certainly one of the humble ones. In this era dominated by social media, Vettel surprisingly still does not use it.

A hilarious moment between Vettel and Lewis Hamilton

A throwback to the Australian GP press conference in 2018 saw Vettel being asked about his interest in social media. The four-time World Champion’s former teammate, Kimi Raikkonen, just opened an account on Instagram and the interviewer asked Vettel whether he will follow the former Ferrari driver in joining social media.

Vettel smirkily said, “Yes and no are my answers. Finnish answers, short.” Lewis Hamilton immediately joined the conversation as he commented, “I thought you are on social media,” to which the German replied he was not using social media.

Vettel and Hamilton shared a healthy rivalry for more than a decade. The two also share a good relationship off the track and respect each other. The Australian Grand Prix in 2018 saw Vettel come out on top while the Brit finished second. However, Hamilton had the last laugh as he overcame the German to win his 5th World Championship in 2018.

Aston Martin will hope to fix their issues

The 2022 season has not been kind to Sebastian Vettel so far. Covid-19 ruled him out of the first two races and he crashed into the barriers during FP1 in Australia. Although Vettel has won multiple races in Albert Park, he struggled throughout the weekend. The DNF result added to his misery after a Q1 exit during Saturday’s qualifying.

Team Principal Mike Krack admits that Aston Martin will need to rectify their issues. He said, “This is really something we need to look at what car we provide him, what feedback he gets from the car because he will agree with me that him being off so much as he has been this weekend is not normal and I don’t think it’s related to having missed two races.”

The pace of the car has been very disappointing. They will certainly look to resolve their issues and provide a competitive car for the four-time World Champion. Can Vettel and Aston Martin bounce back after a dismal start to the season? It remains to be seen.
