‘College Can Ruin Your Game’: Paige Spiranac Backs 17-Year-Old Prodigy Over Her Bold Decision

A majority of players, before turning professional, decide to play college golf to consolidate their game before turning pro. Moreover, various successful college golf players have made their presence felt in golf in the past. However, Paige Spiranac begs to differ with them, and recently she gave her opinion about the same through her Twitter account.

Paige Spiranac has something to say

On Tuesday, Alexa Pano, a 17-year-old golf prodigy, announced that she was turning professional. Moreover, the decision came after she accomplished her goal of playing in the final round at Augusta National Women’s Amature, where she finished tied in 12th position.

Pano is the 64th-ranked amateur globally and is a famous name in the amateur circuit. She will play her first event as a professional in April on the Epson Tour. Moreover, Paige came out with her take and backed Alexa on her decision to turn professional and not opt to play college golf.

Paige made the tweet through her official Twitter account. The tweet said, “Hot take but I think it’s better to turn pro than go to college if you’re that good. College can ruin your game.” Moreover, Paige herself was a college golf player.

This girl kicked my literal ASS growing up on the Florida Junior Tours. Yeah, do the math, she’s 10 years younger than me. What about it? Best of luck to Alexa! https://t.co/JeZHajXJhF

She played college golf for the University of Arizona. Spiranac also won the All-MountainWest Conference honors twice. The former professional also helped the university win its first Mountain West Conference championship in 2015.

As soon as Paige made the tweet, golf Twitter started to react to the news. Moreover, her fans from all over the globe began to respond to her opinionated tweet. The majority of the reactions did not agree with her opinion about not playing golf at the collegiate level. Instead, they should turn professional. At the same time, a few fans’ reactions saw the funnier side of the tweet.

You can literally do both, it’s 2022 the internet exist and a personal tutor is worth just as much investment as a coach.

Interesting. What about college slows their progression?

Just do both…but most pros start off in college…just saying…there really is no logic behind your tweet
