Two-Way MLB Star Shohei Ohtani Makes a Heartwarming Gesture for Former Teammate
Shohei Ohtani has become a brand in Major League Baseball. The LA Angels superstar is on his way to becoming a legendary player in MLB. And why not? In the past couple of years, Ohtani has dominated the game of baseball in MLB.
Ohtani is inarguably the best baseball player in the world, there is virtually no doubt about that. But apart from being a top-level player in the game, his humility and kindness make him even a better person. Recently, his former teammate and the Miami Marlins pitcher, Anthony Bass, heaped praise on Ohtani and called him a 10-tool player.
Notably, before making his Major League Baseball debut, Shohei Ohtani used to play in Nippon Profesional Baseball (a Japanese baseball league).

Currently a Marlins pitcher, Anthony Bass has also played in NPB. Yes, many people might not be aware, but in the 2016 season, Anthony Bass played a full season in Japan for the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters. Interestingly, at that time, Ohtani was also on the same team.

Recently, Bass received a signed jersey from Ohtani and shared his experience of playing with his then-teammate. Taking to Twitter, Bass said it will always be his favorite memorabilia. Notably, Ohtani and Bass helped the Fighters to win the Japan Championship. ‘
“This will always be my favorite piece of memorabilia I’ve ever received,” Bass tweeted. “I had the privilege to play alongside Shohei Ohtani in 2016 for the Fighters and win the Japan Championship.”

And after receiving a signed Fighters’ jersey, Bass called it very special. “He signed this for me today on the jersey we wore when we won it all. Very special!”
Notably, Ohtani made his MLB debut in the 2018 season, while Bass – an MLB veteran – played only one season in Japan and then returned to MLB. In the 2016 season, the two played together and were instrumental in the Fighters’ successful season.
