Novak Djokovic, the legendary Serbian tennis ace, made a comeback to playing masters. After skipping the sunshine double due to Covid related scrutiny he tested his luck on clay. Though tennis fans were already in clouds because of his comeback, a pleasant encounter of his with football giants was cheery on top.
Novak Djokovic With Neymar and Veratti
Neymar Jr, the forward, and Marco Verratti, the center midfielder of Ligue 1 club Paris Saint Germain, came to witness the Italian ace Fabio Fognini play. However, as a bonus to their visit, they came across Novak Djokovic.
The 20 times grand slam champion is a keen follower of football. Therefore, he took a small break from his practice to meet the football stars. He had a small chat with them, following which he played a quick game of ‘keepie- uppies’ with the duo.
Neymar is a world-renowned player and has 71 goals for Brazil’s national team. Whereas, Veratti is one of the most tenacious and skillful midfielders in Europe. Therefore, their meeting with one of the big three of tennis is the most scrumptious thing to happen in the past few days.
World no.1 made an entry into the tournament. Unfortunately for him and his fans, he lost to the Spanish world no. 46 Alejandro Davidovich Fokina on April 12.
Novak’s Clay Court History
There is no surface type that the Serbian hasn’t conquered. Though the clay-court holds a special position in life as he grew up playing on red dirt. Novak has 17 titles victories on clay, including two Roland Garros titles, which is second only to Rafael Nadal’s record of 26 titles.
Further last year, he played 18 matches on clay out of which he only lost three. In addition, the 34-year-old will fight for his crown in this year’s French Open and Belgrade Open.

Djokovic will look forward to get past this defeat and finding some momentum before Roland Garros. He will be the defending champion and would want to be at his best in order to go all the way once again.
