Who is Frank James?

James has been identified as a person of interest involved in the shooting that took place on a subway train in Brooklyn that Tuesday morning.

NYPD News took to Twitter asking for citizens to call if they spot him.

“Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call @NYPDTips at 1-800-577-TIPS.”

At this time it is unclear what James’ connection to the incident is.

Subway shooting suspect, 62, hunted by cops after van key found at scene of attack

At a press conference, NYPD officials said James had made “concerning posts” on social media about New York City, the subway, and Mayor Eric Adams.

Not much is known about James other than that he is 62 years old and that cops found his U-Haul van keys at the scene.

The New York Post reported that James rented a U-Haul van that was connected to the N train attack on Tuesday.

A credit card that rented the vehicle out of Philadelphia was also found at the scene according to police officials.

At this time it is unclear if he is the suspected gunman the police officials said.

The van is said to have Arizona state plates and was located on West Third Street near Kings Highway late Tuesday afternoon, the outlet reports.

Prior to the shooting, the perpetrator reportedly set off a gas device as a smokescreen to their identity.

As the citizens who were present at the time of the shooting proceeded to escape the horror, a number of people reported what they saw to media outlets.

The New York Post reports that 10 of the injured commuters had been wounded by gunfire.

A total of 29 other people are known to have been injured on Tuesday.

The shooting occurred at the 36th Street subway station during morning rush hour and NYPD officials continue to investigate after the alleged assailant fled the scene.

Police officials revealed that the surveillance cameras at the Sunset Park subway station were not working at the time of the assault.

NYPD Commissioner Keechant Sewell said at a press conference that the person of interest is a Black male, 5-foot-5 with a heavy build at around 170 pounds.
