WATCH: The Undertaker at His Evil Best Shattering Bones of His Boss and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon

One must not mess with The Undertaker. That’s the rule everyone followed in WWE, but Vince McMahon himself forgot to abide by it.

The Deadman may have been his creation, but The Deadman had a mind of his own. If required, he would turn on his creator, and that’s exactly what happened.

On September 28th, 1998, at Detroit, The Undertaker and Kane brutally attacked Vince McMahon. They put his leg on one steel step, and smashed it with the other, breaking his bone.

Favorite Detroit moment?

But why?

It so happened that prior to that incident, Kane and Taker had protected McMahon from Austin. In return, McMahon was supposed to bestow the WWE Championship upon either of the brothers by giving them a title match. But, he went back on his word.

Instead, he put them in a handicap tag team match. It was The Brothers of Destruction against Ken Shamrock, Mankind, and The Rock. After declaring the match, The Big Man referred to The Brothers as handicapped, calling Kane physically handicapped and Taker mentally handicapped.

The Undertaker couldn’t let Vince McMahon insult them anymore

The Deadman stopped him while McMahon tried to leave the ring, and asked him to watch his back. He warned Vince McMahon that next time he gets out of line, McMahon would end up handicapped.

As Vince was leaving, he flipped off Taker but as his misfortune would have it, The Phenom saw it. And, he lost all patience.

He punched The Big Man multiple times, and tried to break his leg whilst in the ring. By this time, Kane was ringside, looking for ways to address the situation. Finally, Taker asked Kane to drag McMahon outside.

The Brothers of Destruction smashed The Big Man’s leg between the steel steps before leaving the arena. The crowd cheered while McMahon wriggled around in agony.

This particular moment has often come up as one of the iconic moments during The Undertaker’s career. He has put several through a world of pain, but breaking someone’s bones minutes after asking him to stay in their lane.

What can be more iconic than this?

But on a better note, The Undertaker and Vince McMahon are family to each other. In fact, Taker had asked McMahon to induct him to the Hall of Fame, and McMahon wanted to induct him as well!
