“Would Have Loved to Have Stayed”- Clayton Kershaw Reacts on Dave Roberts’ Shocking Decision to Pull Him Out During the Match
The LA Dodgers superstar pitcher Clayton Kershaw proved why he is one of the best in business. The Dodgers star missed out on creating history in Wednesday’s game against the Minnesota Twins. Notably, after having a perfect start against the Twins, the Dodgers manager Dave Roberts pulled him from the game, and Kershaw missed having a perfect one.
Kershaw truly was in his vintage mood against the Twins. While pitching for seven innings, Kershaw didn’t make a single mistake throughout the game. And eventually, the Dodgers’ ace led them to register a thumping win against Carlos Correa’s side.
Had Kershaw stayed till the 9th inning, he would have had a perfect game. But Dave Roberts had different plans. However, unlike every baseball fan, Kershaw believes that Roberts made the right choice to pull him out.

Notably, with the kind of form Kershaw was in, pulling him out didn’t make any sense for many people. But the Dodgers didn’t want to risk their ace for the rest of the season, as they have bigger goals to achieve. After a convincing victory over the Twins, Kershaw agreed with the decision to pull him out.

The Dodgers ace said it was the right choice, as Kershaw doesn’t believe in selfish goals. “I knew going in that my pitch count wasn’t going to be 100,” Clayton Kershaw said. “It’s a hard thing to do, to come out of a game when you’re doing that. We’re here to win. This was the right choice… Those are selfish goals. We’re trying to win. That’s really all we are here for. I would have loved to have stayed, but bigger things, man, bigger things.”

Kershaw also took a dig at the owners’ lockout for not being able to have a perfect game. “Blame it on the lockout, blame it on me not picking up a baseball until January…” Notably, had Kershaw pitched till the ninth inning, he would have got the first perfect game of his 15-year career with the Dodgers.
His figures against the Twins were quite stunning. In seven innings, Kershaw struck 13 batters out, while no one was able to get a single run off his pitch. The LA Dodgers defeated the Minnesota Twins 7-0.
