Baker Mayfield Wants Fans to Feel The Pain of Being Booed: “I Would Love to Show Up to Somebody’s Cubicle And Just Boo The Sh*t Out of Them”
After Deshaun Watson came onboard the Cleveland Browns, it was a disappointing off-season for Baker Mayfield. In his recent appearance on the You Neva No podcast, Mayfield vented out all his thoughts on the matter.
For the past few years, Mayfield was playing quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. However, the star is on the verge of a possible detachment from his position, trying hard to find a new home in the NFL. During the interview, the quarterback also claimed that he felt disrespected by the way, the franchise handled him this off-season.
Baker Mayfield took a shot at fans
As a starter for the Browns in the past four seasons, Mayfield helped the team make the playoffs in 2020 and capture their first postseason win since Jan. 1, 1995, with a 48-37 wild-card victory in Pittsburgh. However, he struggled severely in the previous season due to his never-ending injuries.
Last year, in November, fans booed Mayfield at FirstEnergy Stadium during a 13-10 win over the Detroit Lions in Week 11. As a result, he skipped the post-match conference afterward. He talked about the incident on the podcast. “When people are so critical of it,” Mayfield said, “I would love to show up at somebody’s cubicle and just boo the sh*t out of them and watch them crumble. I’d be lying to you if I didn’t say that I got caught up in all the negativity and stuff during the year last year,” he added to his revelation on Wednesday.

However, these statements didn’t go well with some Cleveland fans. Soon, taking on to Twitter, people criticized the quarterback.

Despite entering the season, with a Super Bowl expectation Browns went 8-9 and missed the playoffs.
The quarterback is unable to find a new landing spot
Baker Mayfield was completely left out by the Browns after they signed Deshaun Watson in a lucrative deal. However, what irked him most was the way management treated him. “I feel disrespected 100% because I was told one thing, and they completely did another,” Mayfield said in the interview.
Because he never expected the Browns to go after another player despite having him on the active roster. Mayfield got selected by the Cleveland Browns in the 2018 NFL draft.

One of the main reasons the team is unable to trade him is his salary cap. Mayfield is expected to receive nearly $18.8 million annually this season, and no team is willing to hire him at this salary. As the countdown for the NFL draft has begun, it will be exciting to see how Mayfield unlocks his fortune for the upcoming season.
