The Undertaker’s Longevity in WWE is Underrated, Comparisons to Kobe Bryant Prove the Fact

The Undertaker has left a legacy that is hard to match by any WWE Superstar. His incredible accolades speak for themselves as he has done all there is to do in the business. However, one thing that fans sometimes forget is that The Deadman has had one of the longest careers in WWE history. He has been a cornerstone of WWE for decades.

The Undertaker has been around WWE for longer than any other Superstar usually is. Moreover, not just WWE Superstars but The Phenom has surpassed more years competing in WWE than athletes do in any other sport. His contribution can be put to perspective by comparing his run to some famous athletes. One person did exactly that on his Twitter handle.

In the early 1990s, The Undertaker was amidst the beginning of a legendary WrestleMania streak. Starting at WrestleMania 7 in 1991, The Deadman would stay undefeated at the show of shows till WrestleMania 30. As correctly pointed out in the tweet above, WrestleMania 8 in 1992 was The Phenom’s second WrestleMania.

This means he was already on the next step of his legendary WrestleMania streak, while the late NBA Legend Kobe Bryant was just a teenager. Moreover, Kobe Bryant made his NBA debut in November 1996 for the Los Angeles Lakers. On this year, the Undertaker was already 5-0 at WrestleMania as he defeated Diesel in March 1996 at WrestleMania 12.

How long did the WWE career of The Undertaker last?

His wrestling debut happened much earlier, as he competed in various promotions before WWE. However, The Undertaker debuted on WWE TV on November 22, 1990 at Survivor Series. His official retirement match happened in WWE in 2020 at WrestleMania against AJ Styles. This means his in-ring career lasted an unprecedented 30 years.

Only a few WWE Superstars have ever come close to such an illustrious career. One person who can perhaps match The Undertaker in terms of career longevity is WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. However, that takes nothing away from the fact that The Undertaker has surpassed eras and entertained generations of WWE fans.
