WATCH: MLB the Show 22 Introduces Two-Way Phenom Shohei Ohtani Into Diamond Club

Shohei Ohtani has become a brand in Major League Baseball. Apart from hitting home runs in the league games, Ohtani has also been donning MLB The Show 22. Notably, earlier this year, Sony San Diego named him the cover athlete of the baseball video game.

Now, after the release of the much-awaited video game, MLB The Show 22 has also introduced Shohei Ohtani into the Diamond club of The Show 22. However, given his performance for over two-three years in MLB, it is not surprising at all.

Be it pitching or the hitting, Ohtani is equally good in both aspects. And just like the 2021 season, the reigning American League MVP has started his 2022 MLB campaign on a good note.

Earlier, in 2021, Ohtani had an outstanding season for the Los Angeles Angels. The two-way phenom dominated the 2022 season like a pro. From the mound, Ohtani had 156 strikeouts, while as a designated hitter, he smashed a total of 46 home runs. It also led him to win the American League MVP unanimously.

Considering his performance and a massive fan following, the developer of MLB The Show 22, decided to make him the cover star of their premium video game. Recently, on April 5, MLB The Show 22 was released on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

The makers have now decided to include Ohtani in the Diamond Club of MLB The Show 22. Taking to Twitter, the official handle of MLB The Show 22, shared a video and announced Ohtani as a Diamond Club member.

However, Ohtani is not the only one in the Diamond Club of MLB The Show 22. Players like Max Scherzer, Mike Trout, Juan Soto, Clayton Kershaw, Freddie Freeman, Gerrit Cole, and many others are already in the Diamond Club.

For those wondering about the criteria to get into the Diamond Club, if any player has an 85 or higher rating on The Show, that player will be eligible to get into the Diamond Club.
