NFL Linebacker Announces Shocking Retirement at 27: “Too Many Concussions”

The NFL can be one of the most thrilling and adrenaline-filled leagues in the sport’s history. However, it also comes up with a fair share of injuries. Fans have witnessed some heartbreaking moments when their favorite superstar athlete had to retire over injury concerns. A similar situation has arisen among the Cardinals fans, as LB Kylie Fitts has announced his untimely retirement.

The Cardinals have been in the news due to QB Kyler Murray’s endemic situation. They also signed veteran receiver A.J. Green to a one-year pact. Aside from the offseason transactions, the Arizona Cardinals may still have some fascinating candidates can choose from when the 87th overall pick comes around the 2022 NFL Draft.

LB Fitts, who had been with the Cardinals since the year 2019. He’s had a string of concussions, the latest of which occurred last October, when on the injured reserve list with a concussion at the conclusion of the franchise’s campaign. This essentially ended his campaign and his professional NFL career.

The Chicago Bears selected Kylie Fitts in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft out of Utah. He competed in six games with the Bears as a sophomore before joining the Cardinals in 2019. He only appeared in three games that year, but in 2020, he enjoyed his greatest season, taking part in 13 games with one start and recording 9 tackles, 1 QB hit, and a forced fumble.

The retirement decision looks rather unfortunate at the moment, and many fans would believe that the LB had a lot of prowess yet to display. The athlete becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2022, and it is yet to see if the athlete returns, or opts for an alternate career.
