College Kid Who Picked Off Aaron Rodgers Addresses Career-Defining Moment: “I Didn’t Even Know He Threw The Ball”
Aaron Rodgers has been in the news for a rather unusual reason. For someone who has been one of the all-time greats as a quarterback, it’s rather uncommon to see him being aggressive on the turf. In recent times, a video surfaced on the Internet of Rodgers passing on a field. However, a college kid intercepted his pass with ease. Now, the young athlete known as Darius Maxwell recalls the viral moment.
Aaron Rodgers is really not known to throw interceptions, but when you get one, you got to enjoy it. That’s precisely just what a college freshman accomplished during one recent fundraiser game of football. The irony with this is that the jubilation developed into a jab.

While he was throwing a pass, Darius Maxwell intercepts it and basks in the experience by handing the ball to the QB as he rushes by in glee. Rodgers throws the ball off on the contrary direction, towards his legs.
Darius Maxwell weighs in on the Aaron Rodgers altercation
Florida Native Darius Maxwell gives some details about the incident in a recent Sports Illustrated interview. He recalls the moment that just happened. However, he wasn’t aware that Rodgers retaliated by hurling the ball at Maxwell’s legs.
Maxwell begins by stating that it had just occurred. He had no idea why I wanted to give him the ball in the first place. NFL cornerback Josh Norman was also present. “That was the first time I’ve ever saw anyone do it in reality,” Josh said. “‘I know,’ I responded. ‘That’s why I went ahead and did it.’”
He further mentions, “It’s crazy. During the play, I didn’t even know he threw the ball [toward me]. Everybody in the camp told me he threw the ball [toward me]. I didn’t know until I saw the video.”

Maxwell describes it as a crazy experience because he was unaware that he had fumbled the ball towards him. Later, everyone around the camp informed Maxwell about that. He was unaware until he saw the video footage.
To see Aaron Rodgers in a competitive mode isn’t something one usually sees. The Packers QB barely threw four interceptions in the whole 2021 campaign, so snagging him is a major accomplishment, even in a charity match. And Maxwell intercepted a four-time NFL MVP into a grab! That is the pinnacle of craziness.
