Cardi B and Offset’s son has quite the unusual name and, rumour has it, daddy was the one who came up with it.

The couple welcomed their second child together in September but kept him out of the spotlight for the first six months of his life.

They are also parents to his older sister, Kulture, who was born in 2018.

Cardi, 29, and Offset, 30, recently revealed that their baby boy is named Wave Set Cephus, and he is the spitting image of the Migos star.

It is said that the little one’s super cool name was all Offset’s idea, with both parents falling in love with it when suggestions were being thrown around.

According to TMZ, the rapper put forward the name Wave once they knew they were having a boy.

His middle name, however, took some more considering, with sources supposedly telling the outlet that ‘Cardi and Offset spent much longer figuring that out’ and ‘originally toyed with Marley,’ which is a play on Cardi’s middle name, Marlenis.

But, the WAP hitmaker reportedly didn’t like Wave Marley Cephus because it ‘didn’t have the right ring.’

So, the parents decided to wait until their baby was born on September 4 so they could make their minds up when they saw him for the first time.

After laying eyes on the newborn, they went with Set as a middle name, which is also a reference to Offset, since it’s the nickname most of his friends give him.

TMZ also reports that the music stars kept their baby boy under wraps for the first few months of his life because they have experienced ‘a ton of negativity on social media, especially toward their kids.’

Cardi was called out previously by fans who claimed she was hiding her baby’s identity ‘for attention,’ but she was quick to put those rumours to bed.

‘How people mad cause people was asking me to see my son and I replied?’, she wrote on social media.

‘It seems like I can’t do or say nothing these days wit out people getting irritated,’ adding that she might delete her social media accounts instead.

‘If I post is cause I want attention, If I speak my mind is cause I want attention, if I post a pic I want attention, if I talk about my kids which I’m wit everyday is cause I want attention…Like wtff,’ she added.
