“Why Are the Russians Quite All of a Sudden?” – UFC Community Goes Berserk at Aljamain Sterling’s Ironical Tweet

UFC Vegas 51 co-main saw a weird finish to the bout. Not only the finishing sequent but also the result of the bout shocked the MMA space. An Aljamain Sterling-Petr Yan moment was recreated in the co-main event.

The ending of the bout was similar to the infamous Aljamain Sterling vs. Petr Yan initial bout, which saw then-champion Petr Yan get disqualified and ‘Funk Master’ won the UFC bantamweight championship via disqualification due to illegal knees.

In the penultimate bout of The UFC on ESPN 34, Caio Borralho wins a controversial technical decision against the Russian fighter Gadzhi Omargadzhiev. This came after Borralho through an illegal knee to the head of Omargadzhiev.

Omargadzhiev’s one hand was grounded, thus, the strike was deemed illegal. However, the ref decided to rule the knee ‘accidental’ and not ‘intentional’ as was the case with former bantamweight champion Petr Yan.

Thus, it blew on the MMA space.

I hope y’all give him the SAME treatment y’all gave me. Because apparently those knees don’t hurt Keep that same energy, folks!#UFCVegas51
