Celtics All Star Will Soon Join LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and Giannis Antetokounmpo At The NBA ‘Elite Table’, Claims Former Bulls Star

The first round of playoffs is underway and the excitement is unmatched. We have already had some thrilling contests and there are a lot of promising matchups yet to come. Talking about thrilling, Jayson Tatum certainly thrilled the Boston crowd. His winner in literally the last, dying milliseconds made every Celtics fan at the TD Garden jump out of their seats.

The score was in favor of the Brooklyn Nets 114-113. But with the last possession and the last touch on the ball, Jayson Tatum scored a spinning layup to make it 115-114 in Boston Celtics’ favor. Including the game-winning layup, Tatum scored 31 points. He also had 8 assists and 4 rebounds in the game.

Jay Williams broke down the last few seconds of the game. He broke down how the Boston Celtics were resilient to stop both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant from taking a shot. Kyrie probably should’ve taken a shot instead of dribbling but the Celtics doubled him down and he had to revert back to KD. That is when KD was forced into making a tough shot which did not result in a three-pointer. KD was not at his best but a lot of credit has to go to the Boston Celtics. Also, the player that deserves credit for the win is Jayson Tatum, who scored the last layup after the Celtics turned defense into offense.

Is Jayson Tatum close to the ‘Elite Player Status’?

Jayson Tatum tremendously came in clutch in the win for the Celtics. He has been in the league for quite some time now. Out of the 5 seasons he has played for Boston, this has certainly been the best of the lot for the 23-year-old star. But to get recognized among the elite players, he might still have to work harder.

How does Jayson Tatum get a seat at the table to be with the elite of the elites? And I’m talking about the LeBron James the Kevin Durants the Giannises the Steph. He took the first step last night. He got one win, he outplayed Kevin Durant.” Jay Williams said.

The former Bulls player also emphasized the fact KD was dealt with very effectively by the Celtics. He might not have been in his best form but the Celtics’ defense ensured he did not take too many shots. KD took only 24 shots and scored 23 points. By his standards, it was not up to the mark. Moreover, outscoring and outplaying KD in such a game certainly marks a first step towards the ‘elite table’ for Jayson Tatum.
