‘Kyrie Irving Dropped 39 Points While Fasting for Ramadan’- Kevin Durant Blasted For His Poor Show Against Celtics
Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets lost their playoff opener against the Boston Celtics with a score of 114-115 in Boston. The game was very close and went on till the last possession of the game.
The Brooklyn Nets’ attempt at a comeback fell short as Jayson Tatum’s game-winning layup went in.
Kevin Durant had a game to forget. And, his poor performance in the game is scrutinized by the fans. Fans were quick to point out that a fasting Kyrie Irving tried to carry the Nets while Kevin Durant struggled.

Playing against his former team, Kyrie Irving scored 39 most by any player in the game. He was also efficient in his shot as he had FG% of 60 and 3P% of 60.
Kevin Durant, on the other hand, struggled against one of the best defenses in the league. He scored 23 points with an FG% of 37.5 and a 3P% of 20.

Kevin Durant vs Celtics
For someone who averages 29.5 points per game with an FG% of 47.7 in the playoffs throughout his career, this was poor. And, it didn’t help the Brooklyn Nets against the Celtics.
To make things worse, the last few possessions of the game were awful from Kevin Durant.
Kyrie Irving’s 3-pointer gave the Nets a 3-point cushion with 45 seconds left to play. But the Celtics answered back with 2 points and were only down by a point.
Then in the Net’s final possession, Kevin Durant’s long-range 3-pointer was off and in the subsequent play, Jayson Tatum made the game-winning layup.
To add salt to the wound, Durant also played a part in Jayson Tatum’s game-winner. With just 4 seconds left to play he was caught ball watching and was completely faked out by a fake shot attempt by Marcus Smart.
That helped Durant’s man Jayson Tatum make a cut to the basket and finish the layup from the pass from Marcus Smart.
Can Durant and the Brooklyn Nets eliminate the Boston Celtics?
For the Boston Celtics, 4 out of 5 starters scored 20 or more. Al Horford had a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds.
For the Brooklyn Nets though, only 2 out of 5 starters scored in double digits. But the Nets’ bench outscored the Celtics’.
This was a very close game, the Brooklyn Nets outscored the Boston Celtics in 2 of the 4 quarters but it wasn’t enough to get the win.

Kevin Durant will be itching to start the next game, well aware he had a poor first game.
With the absence of Ben Simmons, the Brooklyn Nets need both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant to play at their best to beat the Celtics.
