WhatsApp planning HUGE change to help you hide from annoying friends

WHATSAPP looks set to introduce a long-overdue feature that allows users to block certain people from seeing when they were last online.

At the moment, the popular messaging platform only has three options but a fourth we’ve all been waiting for is currently in the works.

The Last Seen feature does what it says on the tin – it shows contacts when you last opened WhatsApp.

‘Everyone’ is one of the three current options, meaning even those who aren’t approved contacts with you can see your Last Seen.

‘My Contacts’ keeps it only visible to friends and family you’ve already got saved on your phone.

And ‘Nobody’ hides the last seen from absolutely everyone.

But for a while now, users have cried out for a way to only hide the Last Seen from selected contacts, such as an annoying friend or persistent family member who won’t leave you alone.

According to the latest leaked screenshot obtained by WABetaInfo, our dreams could finally come true.

Weeks after tests were found on Android, developers at Meta are now trying it out on iOS for iPhone as well.

The addition appears as ‘My contacts except…’ from the privacy settings.

However, there is a catch – if you block someone from not viewing your Last Seen, you won’t be able to see theirs either.

If you want to take your privacy a step further, you’ll also be able to block selected users from seeing your profile photo and about description as well.

As ever with beta tests, WhatsApp may well decide not to go ahead with the idea.

But seeing as they’ve been looking at it for a while now, we can assume bosses are giving it some serious thought and hopefully it’ll appear for everyone soon.
