Multiple sources reported that Shaq is covering funeral expenses for a 3-year-old boy who was shot fatally. The disheartening incident happened on 12 April. Louisiana boy Devin Page Jr. was shot dead after a stray bullet flew into his room and hit the sleeping preschooler of Baton Rouge.

“I’m so sorry for your loss. Me and a pastor friend are going to take care of everything,” Shaquille O’Neal, an alum of Louisiana State University, said over FaceTime footage obtained by WBRZ. “I’m so sorry.”

Police believe that a bullet from a gunfight outside the preschooler’s home flew into his room. An investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not announced any arrests. The boy’s family told the outlet that they wanted to leave the home after hearing gunshots a few nights in a row. But it would have cost thousands of dollars to move, according to Page’s mother, Tye Toliver.

“I try to stick it out. Now that I stick it out, this is the outcome of what happened,” Toliver told KWTX. “My son got killed.”

The unfortunate incident heartbreakingly took an innocent life of a 3-year-old. We wish him peace and strength for his family in these excruciatingly difficult times.
