Damning stats reveal how ‘diabolical’ Man Utd were at Liverpool with lowest amount of shots all season with just TWO

THE damning stats reveal just how “diabolical” Manchester United were at Anfield tonight.

Ralf Rangnick’s flops were utterly outclassed by title-chasing Liverpool.

Manchester United managed just one shot on target against LiverpoolEPA

Mo Salah grabbed two while Luis Diaz and Sadio Mane also scored to take the aggregate score this season to 9-0 between the two teams.

And as if that wasn’t bad enough, the stats make for really grim reading from a United perspective.

The Red Devils managed just two shots – their lowest tally all season -with one of those on target.

They could only muster nine touches in Alisson’s box and two corners.

Liverpool, in comparison, racked up 14 shots, 36 touches in the opposition area and nine corners as they ran riot.

The Reds, who moved top of the Premier League, managed more than double the number of passes (879 to 349) at a completion rate of 91 per cent to United’s 74 per cent.

Opta stats revealed that since 2003-04, there have been four instances of a player completing 100 or more passes in a Premier League match against Manchester United – all four of them have been this season, with two of them being tonight (Thiago 105, Virgil van Dijk 106).

Liverpool enjoyed a whopping 72 per cent of the ball on an easy night’s work against a pathetic Red Devils side.

Bruno Fernandes, who endured a shocking game, said: “The fans don’t deserve us to play this way. They deserve more from us. We have to raise our level higher.”

Rangnick admitted it was an “embarrassing and humiliating” 90 minutes.

He added: “The first half, we were just not good enough. We did not win any first ball or second balls. We were second best in all relevant areas.

“The first 25 minutes of the second half we were better and had pressure on the ball at times. Had two or three moments, but the third goal killed the game off.
