‘He Asked for My Watch Whilst Having a Gun Pointed in My Face’: Boxer Amir Khan Shares Horrific Experience From Gunpoint Robbery Incident

Former unified light-welterweight world champion Amir Khan was considered one of the most formidable pugilists in his division. In an unfortunate development, Khan recently revealed on social media that he was robbed at gunpoint.

Just had my watch taken off me at gun point in East London, Leyton. I crossed the road with Faryal, luckily she was few steps behind me. 2 men ran to me, he asked for my watch whist having a gun pointed in my face. The main thing is we’re both safe.

Amir Khan was not the only one

Khan was not the only boxer who was robbed at gunpoint. A few other prominent names from the world of boxing have also been victims of armed larceny.

Mexican boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez was robbed at gunpoint by a motorcycle thief in 2019. Chavez was on the Bicentennial Circuit just outside the Benito Juarez International Airport when the incident occurred.

The thief stole Chavez’s chain and the Hublot watch gifted to him by the World Council of Boxing.

What’s next for Khan

However BOXXER CEO Ben Shalom, in a conversation with iFL TV, revealed that Khan will fight again. He said, “Amir Khan wants to fight again but I think he accepts now Kell Brook isn’t the right option for him. People need to see that Amir is serious, it’s not just for money. “
