“I’m Here to Make You”: WWE Legend Reveals the Biggest Lesson He Learnt From Hulk Hogan
There are many things one can learn from the legends of a business. It’s their experience and their contributions that have made them legends, and that must be acknowledged. Therefore, it’s not surprising when Hulk Hogan would step up to show others the way of the business.
When Bubba Ray Dudley sat down for a conversation with Stone Cold Steve Austin on The Broken Skulls Session, he revealed that The Hulkster helped him learn an important lesson about pro-wrestling.
“The biggest learning experiences I’ve had from Hulk that I will never forget this. Hulk was all business with me. All business. And one night, me and Hulk are facing off on the ramp, and we got a little too close. And, as the heel, I’m not getting too close to the legendary babyface… I started to back down. We get to the back and he calls me over and he goes, ‘don’t you ever back down from me again’. I did not understand the lesson that I was just about to learn. I’m like, ‘Hulk, you’re you. I didn’t want to get too close where people would expect you to hit me’. He goes, ‘I’m here to make you. I back down from you’.”
It should be noted that Hogan did not help everyone and anyone. He only helped the pro-wrestlers who earned his respect and showed passion towards the sport.
Undoubtedly, Hogan saw something in Dudley which instigated him to show him how pro-wrestling works with babyfaces and heels.
