‘You See the S**T I Got Going On’ – Nick Kyrgios Reminisces His Amazing Start to the 2022 Season

Nick Kyrgios had a forgettable 2021 season. The Australian tennis star suffered from multiple injuries last year that cut short his season. He played in only eight tournaments last year, failing to dig deep in either of those tournaments. Further, a knee injury ended his season in September.

Moreover, the start of this year wasn’t an ideal one for the 26-year-old. Kyrgios tested positive for Covid-19 before he was due to make a comeback at Sydney Tennis Classic. However, the former World Number 13 played the Australian Open. He partnered with compatriot Thanasi Kokkinakis to win the men’s doubles title at the inaugural Grand Slam tournament of the season. Further, he has had impressive results in other tournaments. Recently, he reviewed his amazing start to this season.

In one of the videos, Kyrgios is seen celebrating his first-round victory over Liam Broady at the Australian Open. It was Kyrgios’ first match this season. Although short on match practice after recovering from Covid-19, Kyrgios found his spark to prevail over the Briton in straight sets 6-4, 6-4, 6-3.

However, his campaign in men’s singles was cut short by Daniil Medvedev. Even though Kyrgios put on an inspiring display against the eventual runner-up, he lost in four sets against World Number 2.

Subsequently, the Australian played at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells. He reached the quarterfinals before losing to Rafael Nadal in a three-set thriller 6-7(0), 7-5, 4-6. Further, he had another impressive finish in Miami, reaching the fourth round before losing to Jannik Sinner in straight sets.
