WHATSAPP is making it easier to quickly make a group chat.

A secret new update currently being tested adds a new shortcut into the app.

The feature lets you quickly create group chats from a specific contact’s profile.

It means it’s much easier to make groups, by giving you more choice.

The feature was uncovered by the tech sleuths at WABetaInfo, who regularly mine WhatsApp for upcoming changes.

“WhatsApp has added a new shortcut called ‘Create Group’ in the ‘Contact Info’ section,” WABetaInfo explained.

“This shortcut is only visible when you already have a group in common with the contact.

“When you tap the new shortcut, WhatsApp will automatically select the contact to add to a new group.

“The group is not immediately created because you will also be able to add more participants before its creation.”

This particular feature is currently “rolling out” on the beta.

The beta is a trial version of WhatsApp used to test new features.

Anyone can sign up to the beta to try app updates ahead of their general release.

It’s currently unclear when the new group shortcut will go live.

WhatsApp could take weeks or months to add it – or scrap the idea altogether.

If you want to try it today, find out how to join the WhatsApp beta below.
