Zara McDermott breaks down in tears as her cat goes missing after boyfriend Sam Thompson left the front door open
ZARA McDermott broke down in tears as she revealed her cat has gone missing after boyfriend Sam Thompson left the front door open.
The Love Island star, 25, took to Instagram to share how she received the sad news while filming miles away from home.
Zara revealed she was left ‘screaming and crying’ after Sam let their cat escape
She said: “So I am in the south west coast of England. I’m filming a new project and I pull up to my hotel, go to get out of the car and I get a message from my cleaner saying ‘why did you leave the door open? Your cat’s escaped’.
“[Their cat] Albus has escaped into [Sam’s sister] Louise and Ryan’s garden. I called every single person within the vicinity of the area to come and help because my cleaner couldn’t climb the fence to get him back.
“Nobody answered me. And I was just screaming, crying… scared I was never going to see him again. And Sam didn’t answer the phone and Sam was the one who left the door open.
“I’ve never been so angry at him in my whole life.”

She finished: “What I’m taking away from this is the love I have for my cats… I’m even welling up at the thought of Albus going missing and me never seeing him again.”
Zara and Made in Chelsea star Sam are the proud owners of two Ragdoll cats – Albus and Cedric, named after his favourite Harry Potter characters – and she later shared an update.
“Just to let you all know Albus is very much alive, safe and well,” Zara said. “He’s been retrieved by the lovely electricians at the house today.
“They climbed over and got him and he’s now safe at home with Sam. I said ‘do not let him out of your sight’.”

Sam and Zara introduced little Albus to their following in December and, just weeks later, revealed they’d welcomed another addition to the household.
Posting a sweet snap of him with the two kittens, Sam wrote: “Turns out little ALBUS had a brother that no one wanted. Couldn’t let him be alone sooooo meet CEDRIC!!”
