Charles Leclerc Reveals Experiencing Yet Another Italy-Like Incident at the 2022 Australian GP

Charles Leclerc is a famous personality. He has been competing in Formula 1 since 2018, and is now the face of Ferrari, especially after an incredible start to the current season. He is also the only Monegasque on the grid. Such fame can be a bit overwhelming. But lucky for Leclerc, he also keeps encountering humbling situations, as he was recently not recognized after being in the limelight for long.

Charles Leclerc, who?

History is repeating itself for Leclerc. He has been in the same situation twice now. The first time around, a taxi driver failed to recognize Leclerc after his win at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.

Q: “After your win in Monza, a taxi driver didn’t recognize you!”

Charles: “It happened again this year in Australia! Not after the win but prior to the weekend, but it was the same story. He was saying [ah, Ferrari don’t look bad this year], and I was like [eh, yes].”

The same situation repeated, but this time around, it happened before the race. Being in the same situation twice is quite funny. But we are sure that would not at all be the case with Leclerc in Italy this time around.

Recently, an interviewer put up a question to Leclerc, “After your win in Monza, a taxi driver didn’t recognize you!”

To which the Ferrari man replied, “It happened again this year in Australia! Not after the win but prior to the weekend, but it was the same story. He was saying [ah, Ferrari don’t look bad this year], and I was like [eh, yes].”

Racing towards more fame and glory

If Leclerc can continue his form, and rack up wins and points, it will be pretty hard to not recognize him. Moreover, if he continues at this pace, a world championship will not be just a dream.

Leclerc has gathered 71 points from the opening three races. He’s already 34 points ahead of George Russell, who’s second in the drivers’ championship table. With a little help from teammate Carlos Sainz, they might even deliver the constructors’ championship to Ferrari.

We will get a fair idea of where the teams currently stand after the weekend at Imola. It would be exciting to see how far can Ferrari stretch their lead, or see the gap covered!
