“Feels Some Type Of Guilt”- Suni Lee’s Close Friend Reveals Young Olympic Star’s Struggles In College Life

19-year-old Suni Lee is the rising star of gymnastics. With her back-to-back perfect scores, she led the Auburn team to the finals of the NCAA Championships after many years. After Lee joined Auburn, she was the most obvious choice to lead the Auburn Tigers. And she did them proud.

In Auburn, Suni found a family for herself. She found new friends in her team, who constantly urged her to do her best and more. And now, a close member of this family has revealed more about Suni and her college life.

Behind the Scenes with Suni Lee’s close-knit family

Suni Lee has time and again spoken publicly about the “toxic culture” of elite sports. Suni Lee is the 2020 Tokyo Olympic all-around champion. However, the reality behind this was that the young gymnast was under a huge amount of pressure. Something that even prevented her from opening up fully on the popular show “Dancing With The Stars”.

Her initial days at Auburn University were also not so good. Lee revealed that she was constantly being followed by the media everywhere. She wanted a normal college life but turns out, it wasn’t as easy to achieve. Her half-sibling Shyenne has revealed that all Lee wants is the people around her to feel good.

“I think she feels some type of guilt saying no,” Sheyenne  says“I think she feels for them. She just wants people to feel good.”

Even at the college meets, Lee would go out of her way for her fans and teammates. Even when her security warned her about the place, she would still make it a point to visit.

“Her security guard would be like, ‘Oh no, Suni. Don’t do it. You’re going to get held for an hour.”

Although Lee has had a tough start at college, now she is slowly getting the hang of things and has found her comfort space. She even revealed that she would rather compete in the NCAA than the Olympics.

Lee’s current life at Auburn University

The NCAA Championships have come to end. Suni Lee had an incredible run with multiple perfect scores. Auburn University came in 4th position. Currently, Lee is trying to juggle training and studies.

“We’re still stressing about exams. We’re still turning in homework at the 11th hour,” her coach Jeff Graba has revealed.
