“I Don’t Know Why We Did That”: WWE Hall of Famer Shoots on WWE Falsely Advertising Stone Cold Steve Austin

Stone Cold Steve Austin has always been a major attraction in WWE. He had given the fans countless memorable moments. But unfortunately, he had to announce his retirement from in-ring competition back in 2003 because of injuries. Prior to his retirement in 2003, WWE once falsely advertised Steve Austin for some WWE shows, most probably in 2002. And this led to major complaints from the fans.

Recently, WWE legend Jim Ross gave his thoughts on it. Ross claimed it to be a mistake.

During an episode of the Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross said, “It was a mistake. It wasn’t the right way to do business. I don’t know why we did that. I can tell you Austin did not condone it. That’s not his style.”

“But that was a decision made by the higher ups. I wish we had not done that. I always believe in being honest and truthful to the fans. And we weren’t on that occasion. It was unfortunate,” he added.
