Tyson Fury Explains His Decision to Retire After Seeking Counsel From the Richest Man in History

The WBC and lineal heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury spoke to iFL TV during the build-up of his homecoming fight against Dillian Whyte. Fury confirmed in the interview that this fight will be his final fight ever.

The heartbreaking news of one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time hanging up his gloves after one last night of glory has the boxing world at a standstill.

Why is Tyson Fury retiring?

Retiring after his fight against Whyte would mean that he won’t be called the undisputed heavyweight champion. If he defeats Whyte, Fury would end his reign as just the WBC and Lineal heavyweight champion.

The 34-year-old explained iFL TV, that people won’t understand why he’s walking away from “a double euro jackpot win”. However, he stated that “the cleverest and the richest man to have ever lived” has been advising and counseling him.

That man gave Fury some words of wisdom as he stated, “the best things in life are eating, drinking, and enjoying your work, not temples built of gold.”

Fury further stated that he’s satisfied with his life and how far he has come in his career. He confessed, “I’m happy I’m contented and I have done a hell of a journey I have had a hell of a ride the last 20 years.”

Tyson Fury will undoubtedly go down in the history books as one of the best and most extraordinary heavyweight boxers of all time.

Only a handful of fighters can ever boast an undefeated record like Fury’s 31-0-1. He became the lineal heavyweight champion after his emphatic win against Wladimir Klitschk0. While he became the WBC heavyweight champion by defeating the Bronze Bomber, Deontay Wilder.
