The 2022 ClubCorp Classic is the 6th event on the PGA Tour Champions this year. Since it is the tournament’s inaugural year, it is one of the highly anticipated events of the Tour. Let’s find out all about the event, especially the prize money and the other benefits all the participants would receive in the end.

The Las Colinas Country Club in Irving, Texas, is hosting the inaugural event year. And 81 of the best players on the PGA Tour Champions are playing from the 22nd of April to the 24th.

The official event only begins on the 22nd. However, the Las Colinas Country Club is already in a competitive spirit as there is a Pro-Am event before it. 50 celebrity golfers have played at the Pro-Am event.

The PGA Tour Champions event will follow the 54-hole standard event. Meanwhile, the celebrity Pro-Am event followed the 54-hole modified Stableford Scoring System. The Golf Channel has the broadcasting rights for both the Pro-Am and official events and will televise the whole event to entertain the golf fans.

The purse money of the tournament

The purse money of the ClubCorp Classic of 2022 is $2 million. For the prize winner, the payout will be $300,000, which is allotted according to the PGA Tour Champion’s prize distribution chart.

The top 54 golfers would advance to the second part of the competition. Meanwhile, the top 36 would play in the final round. There is no cut made during the event. Therefore, all 81 golfers who compete in the competition would receive the prize money.

The prize money is the highlight of the tournament. However, the competitors in the official event would also receive extra benefits. Each dollar earned by the players would get converted into regular-season points. The points help them qualify for the Charles Schwab Cup playoffs. Moreover, the top 5 players on the point table would receive a part of the $2.1 million bonus pool by the end of the season.

Furthermore, the celebrity event purse money is $500,000.
