Britain’s Got Talent’s wildest moments from furious singer’s X-rated rant at judges to star kissing Amanda Holden’s bum

LIVE television is hard work – and when you’ve been on air for over a decade, there’s inevitably going to be times it doesn’t all go to plan.

Just take Britain’s Got Talent, which has seen no shortage of acts and judges behaving badly since it began in 2007.

From David Walliams stripping off to fix rows and a contestant launching an X-rated rant at the judges, there’s never a dull moment. 

Now the ITV talent show is back with bang, we look back at the wildest moments from the last 15 years.

We’ve all had days where a colleague drives us up the wall, but for Amanda Holden, the moment was caught on camera in 2015. 

The radio host was wound up after Stephen produced a photo of what she might look like in 2046, which was rather unflattering.

The 51-year-old judge stood up and threw her drink over the host before grabbing Simon Cowell’s water and throwing that as well. 

She even reached for Alesha Dixon’s glass before tottering around the table and trying to smack the former magician’s bottom.

Comic David is no stranger to being the centre of attention and he’s happy to step up when required by an auditioning act. 

In last week’s show, he decided to help out one old Scottish lady by getting his kit off.

When Joy from Whitburn, West Lothian, appeared on stage everyone assumed she would sing and were left shocked when she burst into a frenetic dance to a 90s rave song. 

David couldn’t resist a chance to boogie and joined the pensioner on stage – whipping off his shirt in the process.

Part and parcel of auditioning is that you’re not always going to be liked by the judges.

But some hopefuls – like David Williams in 2020 – don’t take rejection from the panel of superstars well. 

The dancer was confident his act would be a hit. However, he ended up being laughed at because he didn’t know what to do with the microphone stand, and went on to get three red buzzers from the judges.

Simon told him he was “utterly useless” – causing David to storm off stage before returning to tell the judges “f*** you” and walking off again. Charming!

Most people never thought they’d see the day that Simon Cowell kissed another person’s bottom on live TV.

But fans were treated to just that in 2013 when Amanda decided to waggle her rear end in the music mogul’s face while dancing to Kiss My Ass, Baby by The All Purpose Blues.

Taking it as a prompt, Simon puckered up to plant the smooch on her yellow dress.

He told Amanda: “I kissed your ass. Did you like that?” She thanked him and then laughed: “It was a first.”

It seems there was one bottom Simon was more reluctant to kiss, in 2018.

Judge David Walliams got up on the table with Amanda and Alesha to dance during an audition before swiftly dropping his trousers in front of the head judge.

To add to the chaos, which saw Simon put his head in his hands, Amanda decided to try and pull down the author’s underpants as well.

The incident was broadcast on the show’s spin-off Britain’s Got More Talent.

It’s known for being a family-friendly show, but one hopeful clearly hadn’t got the memo when she decided to give Simon a lap dance in 2013.

Keri Graham’s raunchy performance left viewers furious but David found it hilarious, hopping on to Simon’s vacant lap after Keri, then 43, got off.

Another contestant, Beatrix Von Bourbon, also sparked complaints when she performed a burlesque striptease in 2012.

Alesha came under fire in 2020 for voting through comedian Kojo Anim after it came out they were good friends.

On the show she said: “I was not expecting to see you today.”

“I’ve known Kojo for many many years,” she said, before letting him get started with his act.

However, it was Simon who gave the comic the Golden Buzzer, not Alesha.

She then came under fire again for giving the Golden Buzzer to Lifford Shillingford, sending him through to the final, when fans found out he had supported her on tour in her Mis-Teeq days.

The dog swap

Canine competitors have been a staple of BGT for years and we’ve seen some amazing talent like Ashley and Pudsey.

But not all the impressive feats in one act were performed by the same dog.

Viewers were left furious when it turned out series nine winner Jules O’Dwyer and her dancing dog Matisse hadn’t performed the entire winning routine.

The day after the final it emerged that the pooch had been switched out for the highwire part of the act as Matisse was scared of heights.

It caused more than 200 viewers to complain to Ofcom and it was ruled that ITV had misled the public.
