The turmoil surrounding quarterback Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals lingered well in the summer. Strap your crash helmet if you’re a Cardinals fan that enjoys seeing Kyler as their QB. The Cardinals GM appears to have put an end to all conjecture. The craziest NFL offseason may not see Murray fly off someplace else, as he appears to be staying in Arizona.

Both the Arizona Cardinals and Kyler Murray went quite back and forth over the 2022 offseason. The turmoil began in February over some issues in the organization, which led to him removing any trace of the franchise over his Instagram. While various NFL pundits made some critical comments about the QB, it looks like they have settled the situation.

Kyler Murray meant to stay?

NFL Rumors on Twitter reports during a pre-draft media conference, reporters question GM Steve Keim if the Cardinals might consider trading Kyler Murray. The quarterback has reportedly not earned an extension, and would not compete next season if he signs a new agreement.

GM Keim responds that there’s ‘zero chance’ that would happen.

During one of the most recent episodes of the ‘All Things Covered‘ podcast, Peterson calls that Murray’s status in Arizona might be determined by how well the Cardinals perform in 2022. If the Cardinals cannot assemble a headlining club roster around Murray, Peterson may see part ways with his former teammate.

The 2-time Pro Bowler was in the running for NFL MVP last year until being put off due to ailments for 3 matches. Kyler Murray is now in the latter year of his rookie deal, which has a cap hit of only $11.4 million for the new season. He is certainly hoping for a full agreement, considering the recent lucrative packages given out to all other top-tier passers.
