David Bonola, 44, was charged on Thursday with murder, criminal tampering and criminal possession of a weapon in relation to the death of Orsolya Gaal, 51, who was found dead in Queens on Saturday.

Police sources told The US Sun that Bonola confessed to the crime during an interrogation on Wednesday night, allegedly telling investigators he killed her in the heat of an argument.

Law enforcement officials previously told The Sun, he worked as a handyman for Gaal and lived near her flush $2 million home.

And now a senior NYPD supervisor has revealed they found a chilling household memo affixed to her refrigerator that confirmed their suspicions of Bonola’s supposed actions.

According to a report from the Daily Beast, it allegedly read “Get a new Handyman.”

It promoted a hunt for evidence as cops scoured for clues in the residential Queens area.

They discovered chilling footage of her killer videoed wheeling her body through the neighbourhood in a black Bauer hockey bag at 4.30am before discarding it in the middle of a sidewalk around nine blocks away.

Police later revealed that the hockey bag belonged to Orsolya’s son.

Bonas had reportedly showed up at Orsolya’s home and the two argued before he allegedly murdered her in her own basement.

Police later discovered a jacket, believed to be worn by Bonola, as well as boots, a T-Shirt and bloody bandages.

Detectives made the find after they began increased surveillance on Bonas’ home before cornering a rubbish truck as it made a regular pick-up for his trash on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Bonas then voluntarily went to the 112th precinct to be questioned where he made “incriminating statements” according to NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig.

It came as another unnamed chief alleged that the 40-year-old had sought to divert the detectives’ attention to other men – including other handymen – after the supposed note was discovered.

Detectives also allegedly asked him about his injuries in the time period following Gaal’s murder as images later showed Bonola walking down the street with a face mask on and bandages on his hand, and also the weapon – a kitchen knife.

‘CHILLING MURDER’

The married mother-of-two, who originally hails from Hungary, was stabbed nearly 60 times, suffering dozens of wounds to her neck, torso, and left arm.

Investigators also found possible defensive wounds on her hands and the insides of her fingers, suggesting she attempted to fend off her attacker before she was killed.

Bonola also received treatment for wounds to both hands following the attack, police said.

The nature of Orsolya’s injuries, and the fact there was no sign of forced entry inside her home led police to believe she was murdered by someone she knew and who was familiar with the property.

Police said on Thursday that they believe Bonola was led into the house voluntarily or used a key.

Orsolya and Bonola were said to have had an intimate affair, on and off for two years, which was considered at an end, police said.

The pair had broken up previously, cops added, but had reunited early in the month of April.
