Kate Garraway has addressed the possibility of returning to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, remarking that she could ‘redeem herself’ if given a second chance.

This week, it was reported that ITV are planning to launch an all-star version of the reality show in South Africa, ahead of a planned return to the jungle in Australia.

The show, which is said will last for two weeks, will reportedly feature some fan-favourite contestants of old, with a source telling Metro.co.uk: ‘It will be hosted by Ant and Dec and will feature the most loved, favourite camp mates from previous years.’

On Friday’s Good Morning Britain, Garraway and Richard Bacon were speaking to Richard Arnold about the rumoured star-studded programme,

Arnold said that it will feature ‘the most legendary campmates ever’, mentioning Gino D’Acampo, Vicky Pattison, Harry Redknapp as possible contenders, before turning to Garraway and saying: ‘So you could get a call Kate.’

The GMB co-host, who went on I’m A Celebrity in 2019, then asked: ‘If you’ve done it before you can do it again?’

There were gasps as those in the ITV studio imagined the prospect of Garraway giving I’m a Celebrity a go for a second time, as Arnold quipped: ‘Kaching!’

‘Maybe I could have a chance to redeem myself this time,’ she joked, despite having finished in fourth place when she took part in the competition.

Arnold stressed that fans might have a while to wait before finding out the cast line-up… but speculation is sure to remain rife.

Following Arnold’s ‘kaching’ quip, Bacon piped up to emphasise that ‘Kate’s commitment is to making great entertainment television, not to kaching’.

After Garraway thanked him for his support, he said: ‘My pleasure to stand up for you there.’

‘Thank goodness for some fresh blood!’ she then exclaimed.

When it was reported that the South Africa spin-off could be in the works, the source said: ‘The show is still very much based in the world of I’m A Celeb – the campmates will be doing trials and living in the camp environment, but with fresh and exciting new twists on the format.’

They explained that the campmates would ‘have a hand in their own destiny through a series of internal votes and challenges’.

‘This new edition is likely to air in 2023 but before that viewers will get to enjoy the show’s much-anticipated return to Australia in November,’ they added.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
