Nicolas Cage, 58, reveals gender and name of his first baby with with fifth wife Riko Shibat, 27

Nicolas Cage has revealed that he is having a baby girl with his fifth wife Riko Shibat.

The actor, 58, announced he is “going to have a little girl” as he appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show on Thursday.

The Hollywood star, who has two children from previous relationships, said they plan to call their daughter Lennon Augie.

The star explained it will be a tribute to the late John Lennon and his late father August ‘Augie’ Coppola.

The Con Air actor said The Beatles hold a special place in his heart and revealed that he felt “frozen, paralyzed by the music” the first time he heard Across The Universe the radio.

The star said is was his “favourite song ever written” and went onto explain that the song meant a great deal to him.

Nicolas will also pay tribute to his late date August, who was a literature professor, and died of a heart attack outside his home in Los Angeles in 2009 aged 75.

He told Kelly: “Because of Across The Universe, her name is gonna be Lennon Augie, Augie after my father.”

Speaking about having a baby girl, Nicolas added: “I’m thrilled. It’s going to be the biggest adventure of my life”.

The Face Off star and fifth wife Riko, 27, revealed in January that they were expecting a baby.

It will be the Hollywood star’s third child after sons Ka-El Coppola, 16, and Weston Coppola, 31, from previous relationships.

“The parents-to-be are elated!” the actor’s rep said.

Nicolas tied the knot with Riko on on February 16, 2021 in a “very small and intimate wedding at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas,” according to a rep for Cage.

The date was chosen as it was special to Nic – it was his late father, August Coppola’s, birthday.

“It’s true, and we are very happy,” Nic told PEOPLE in a statement at the time.

Riko is four years younger than Nicolas’ eldest son.

NICOLAS AND RIKO’S LOVE

The starry-eyed couple met in Shiga, Japan, in 2020 through mutual friends.

The actor was there filming the movie Prisoners of the Ghostland. 

They made their magazine cover debut as a couple when they posed for FLAUNT in October 2021.

The next month, the pair walked the red carpet at the 2021 GQ Men of the Year party in West Hollywood, California. 

Riko is also an actress, and the pair made their official red carpet debut in July 2021 at the premiere of Cage’s film Pig.

Nic announced the engagement on his brother Marc Coppola’s radio show in 2020, after Riko had just visited New York with him.

“She left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan, and I went back to Nevada and I haven’t seen her for six months,” he said.

“We’re really happy together and we’re really excited to spend that time together so I finally just said ‘Look, I wanna marry you’ and we got engaged on FaceTime.”

They were first spotted together in February of 2020 when he took her to New Orleans to visit the tomb he famously purchased for himself a decade earlier.

THEIR ‘POETIC’ JAPAN WEDDING

Riko wore a wore a handmade Japanese Bridal Kimono from Kyoto to her 2021 wedding.

She walked the aisle to Winter Song by Kiroro, which is reportedly her favorite song.

Nic wore a Tom Ford tuxedo according to PEOPLE and the couple exchanged traditional Catholic and Shinto vows with poetry.

Poems by Walt Whitman and a Haiku were also included in the ceremony.

After the wedding, the blissful couple headed to a small gathering at the home of Nicolas’ ex-wife, Alice Kim, whom he remains very good friends with.

Their son Kal-El, 15, also attended.

NIC’S CAGEY PAST

Nic was married to Alice Kim from 2004 to 2016; she is the mother of his youngest son Kal-El.

Nicolas has been married four times before – including to Oscar winner Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2001.

He also tied the knot with Elvis Presley’s daughter Lisa Marie Presley, but they divorced after two years.

Nicolas was also married for just a few days in 2019 to Erika Koike.

He shares his eldest Weston with a woman named Christina Fulton but they never married.

Riko took her husband’s last name – and now is legally Riko Cage.
