It would be farcical if a piece of cake destroys Boris’s ambitious vision for Britain

IT is vital that Boris Johnson and Tory MPs hold their nerve in the face of incessant sniping over the Downing Street party probes.

Everyone accepts the lockdown-breaking jollies were wrong, and the Prime Minister has apologised both profusely and repeatedly.

It is vital that Boris Johnson and Tory MPs hold their nerve in the face of incessant sniping over the Downing Street party probesGetty

But the row is now nothing more than an opportunity for the liberal establishment to attempt to derail the Government’s Conservative agenda.

Labour is cynically whipping up the hysteria because it cannot defeat him over real issues, from Brexit to the Rwanda migrant scheme.

ROD LIDDLE

Tory rebels stop your squabbling or you’ll end up with a worse clown than Boris

Tory MPs jittery over the potentially dire results of the May local elections are openly plotting.

He rightly says this reflects the “grit and determination” of the Government despite the pandemic.

Boris has led the way in his steadfast support for Ukraine as it battles maniac Vladimir Putin’s forces.

He still has a long way to go to level up parts of the nation neglected for too long.

And he urgently needs to help voters struggling with the cost-of-living crisis.

But his many enemies are determined to use parties to topple him.

It would be farcical if a piece of cake or a sly can of lager destroys Boris’s ambitious vision for Britain.

It is totally unfair for energy giants to fleece customers for extra cash to prop up their own finances.
