NFL Takes Some Help from WWE for 2022 Draft

WWE and the National Football League have a long-standing relationship with one another. As there is a unique integrity within the major US sports, there are many superstars who have enjoyed their time in both of these industries. There have also been notable appearances from former NFL superstars at WWE. For a recent instance, Pat McAfee thrilling every cell of the Texas crowd in WrestleMania 38.

However, next week is the NFL draft for the new 2022 season. This time, two WWE stars will be part of the event as well. The Miz and former wrestler and current WWE global ambassador Titus O’Neal will represent their hometown franchises in Las Vegas.

Titus O’Neal will be with his legendary hometown team, Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Whereas, ‘Missionary Mike’ will represent and announce selections for the Dawg Pound, Cleveland Browns. Moreover, the draft will begin on Thursday and go on until Saturday.

The most proficient players from college football ranks will be fulfilling their dreams. Also, who knows, there might be future WWE superstars among them as well. Because many legendary wrestlers, including The Beast Brock Lesnar himself, were NFL players once.

Titus O’Neal and The Miz are excited for the NFL Draft

Speaking to WWE.com, the former NXT superstar Titus O’Neal said, “I’m honored to represent my Hometown NFL team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, at this year’s NFL Draft. As a person who holds a great relationship with many of the players and someone who enjoys an impactful partnership with the Bucs organization serving the Tampa Bay Region through my Bullard Family Foundation, this is truly a special moment.”

Further, he added, “This opportunity to announce the name of the next great contributor to our community both on and off the field is an honor that I’ll never forget. It’s also the BEST BIRTHDAY GIFT ever as I get to celebrate on my birthday this very special occasion with the NFL, the Bucs, the Tampa Bay community, and the player selected.

Meanwhile, Mike Mizanin expressed how much it means to him to represent Cleveland Browns. The Miz said, “I am thrilled to head to Las Vegas to represent my hometown Cleveland Browns at the 2022 NFL Draft. As someone who grew up a huge Browns fan, the opportunity to play a small part in the future of the franchise is a dream come true. This is going to be AWESOME.”

Furthermore, the Bucs will pick at #27 in Round 1 of the Draft. Cleveland Browns exchanged their #13 pick to the Houston Texans with the Deshaun Watson trade. The 2022 NFL Draft will occur between Thursday, April 28, and Saturday, April 30. It will stream live on NFL Network, ABC and ESPN.
