Former Bucs Coach Wants Antonio Brown to Return to Franchise: “He Worked Harder Than Almost Anyone I’ve Ever Seen”

Antonio Brown has created a carefree and rogue persona, especially after his sideline meltdown against the New York Jets last season. However, his impulsive personality has been overlooked by coaches for working harder in practice and running bizarre routes during games. Not to mention at his peak he was considered among the top 5 WRs of all time.

One of AB’s former Bucs coach, AQ Shipley echoed such statements by calling the veteran one of the most hard-working players on the team. During his recent appearance at The Pat McAfee Show, the 2021 assistant offensive coach, explained why he believed Brown should get another shot with the franchise.

AQ Shipley wants Tampa Bay Buccaneers to give Antonio Brown another shot

“It’s such an unfortunate thing. He’s such a good player. He worked harder than almost anyone I’ve ever seen, like honestly. Practices super hard,” Shipley said.

“He never took a period off. Like if the offense was off, you know typically you’re catching your breath waiting for the next period of practice, he’s grabbing Tom and going and running routes in the end zone… Or he’s over at the Juggs machine catching another 50 balls. He works so hard. You can never say a bad word about that.”

“I think you’ve probably heard plenty of people say that you kind of wish that didn’t escalate as quickly as it did. And I think I would echo that statement. But it is what it is. It happened the way it is. It’s unfortunate. Hopefully, he gets another shot.”

Will AB make it back to the NFL?

As Shipley heaped praises for AB, the co-hosts, Pat McAfee and AJ Hawk nodded along. It simply reveals the commitment that the veteran brings to the table. McAfee even revealed that he was excited to see who signs him since he believes that AB’s presence “changes the team.”

Brown remains one of the most popular free agents in the market right now. And the wideout openly endorses himself for another opportunity at the league. But given his concerning past will any team take a bet on him?
