Jonathan Majors has revealed that he was ‘punched in the face about 100 times’ while filming Creed III.

Well, considering it’s a Rocky spin-off, and a boxing movie, that’s not *too* strange.

The Lovecraft Country actor, 32, has discussed shooting Creed III alongside A-lister Michael B Jordan and he revealed that he’d taken a number of blows during filming.

He said that he didn’t sustain any injuries, but that he ‘got punched in the face 100 times’.

To put our minds at rest, he added: ‘But it’s all OK!’

Phew, well, that’s fine, then!?

In addition, the actor’s hands became so big, that he couldn’t even slip on a wristband for the Chanel pre-Oscars party.

He added: ‘Over time, they got bigger and bigger’.

Speaking to Variety, he also said that he’d spent over a year preparing for the role.

The actor was recently spotted working on Venice Beach, while the Black Panther actor directed him.

He opted for going without a shirt while filming, as he showed off his torso in the glaring California sunshine.

Jonathan, who is a father of one, also performed a number of workouts in the sunshine, including pull-ups, climbing ropes, and running through the sand with a parachute attached to his back for resistance.

The star is billed to play Anderson Dame in the film, a nemesis to Jordan’s Adonis Creed.

The film is also billed to star Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad and Wood Harris.

Meanwhile, in March 2021, it was confirmed that Michael would be stepping behind the camera for the first time with his directorial debut in Creed III.

Announcing the news a the time, the actor, 35, said in a statement: ‘Directing has always been an aspiration, but the timing had to be right.

‘Creed III is that moment — a time in my life where I’ve grown more sure of who I am, holding agency in my own story, maturing personally, growing professionally, and learning from the greats like Ryan Coogler, most recently Denzel Washington, and other top tier directors I respect. All of which sets the table for this moment.’

He added: ‘This franchise and in particular, the themes of Creed III are deeply personal to me.

‘I look forward to sharing the next chapter of Adonis Creed’s story with the awesome responsibility of being its director and namesake.’
